(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ , قَالَ : وَحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ غَيْلَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا رِشْدِينُ , حدثنا زَبَّانُ , عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ مُعَاذٍ , عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِنَّ الذِّكْرَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى يُضَعَّفُ فَوْقَ النَّفَقَةِ بِسَبْعِ مِائَةِ ضِعْفٍ " , قَالَ يَحْيَى فِي حَدِيثِهِ : " بِسَبْعِ مِائَةِ أَلْفِ ضِعْفٍ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Anas that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Being engaged in the remembrance of Allah is seven hundred times higher in rank than giving charity. According to another chain of narration, it is seven hundred thousand times higher in rank.
