(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ , عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ الْحُوَيْرِثِ , أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَهُ وَلِصَاحِبٍ لَهُ : " إِذَا حَضَرَتْ الصَّلَاةُ فَأَذِّنَا وَأَقِيمَا " وَقَالَ مَرَّةً : " فَأَقِيمَا ، ثُمَّ لِيَؤُمَّكُمَا أَكْبَرُكُمَا " , قَالَ خَالِدٌ : فَقُلْتُ لِأَبِي قِلَابَةَ فَأَيْنَ الْقِرَاءَةُ ؟ قَالَ : إِنَّهُمَا كَانَا مُتَقَارِبَيْنِ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Malik bin Huwairith that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him and one of his companions: When the time for prayer comes, give the adhan and say the iqamah, and the one who is the eldest among you should lead the prayer.
