Hadith 1552

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) that once someone asked him: Is it permissible to sell barley without husk in exchange for common barley? He replied: Once a person asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about selling fresh dates in exchange for dry dates, so I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying: “Is it not the case that fresh dates become less after drying?” The people replied: It is so. Upon this, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Then no.”
