(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ خُثَيْمٍ ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ ، عَنِ السَّائِبِ بْنِ أَبِي السَّائِبِ , أَنَّهُ كَانَ يُشَارِكُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَبْلَ الْإِسْلَامِ فِي التِّجَارَة ، فَلَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ الْفَتْحِ جَاءَهُ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَرْحَبًا بِأَخِي وَشَرِيكِي ، كَانَ لَا يُدَارِي وَلَا يُمَارِي ، يَا سَائِبُ قَدْ كُنْتَ تَعْمَلُ أَعْمَالًا فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ لَا تُقْبَلُ مِنْكَ ، وَهِيَ الْيَوْمَ تُقْبَلُ مِنْكَ " , وَكَانَ ذَا سَلَفٍ وَصِلَةٍ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sa'ib that before Islam, he was a business partner of the Prophet (peace be upon him). On the day of the conquest of Makkah, he presented himself before the Prophet (peace be upon him), so the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Welcome to my brother and business partner, who neither competed nor argued. Sa'ib, you used to do some good deeds in the time of ignorance, but at that time they were not accepted; however, now they will be accepted. Sayyiduna Sa'ib used to give loans to those in need and maintain ties of kinship.
