(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَلْجٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَاطِبٍ الْجُمَحِيِّ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " فَصْلٌ بَيْنَ الْحَلَالِ وَالْحَرَامِ ، الدُّفُّ وَالصَّوْتُ فِي النِّكَاحِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Muhammad bin Hatib that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The distinction between what is lawful and unlawful is made by beating the duff and publicizing the marriage.
