Hadith 1544

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) that once someone asked him: Is it permissible to sell fresh dates in exchange for dry dates? He considered it undesirable and said that once a person had asked the same question to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: “Is it not the case that fresh dates become less after they dry?” The people replied: It is so. Upon this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Then no.”
