It is narrated from Sayyiduna Aswad that he saw the Prophet (peace be upon him) taking allegiance from the people on the day of the conquest of Makkah. The Prophet (peace be upon him) was at that time seated on the peak of Musqalah and was taking allegiance from the people on Islam and testimony. The narrator asked what was meant by testimony. He replied that Muhammad bin Aswad Khalaf told me that the Prophet (peace be upon him) was taking allegiance from the people on faith in Allah and on the testimony that there is no deity except Allah and that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger.
