Abu Wa'il says that once I was sitting with Sayyiduna Shaybah bin Uthman when he said: Once Sayyiduna Umar was sitting in your place and he said: I wish that I do not leave any gold or silver in the Ka'bah, I distribute everything among the people. I said to him: You cannot do this because before you, your two companions have passed away and they did not do this. Sayyiduna Umar said: They were indeed the two men who could be followed.
