It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “I am amazed at the decree and decision of Allah regarding the believing servant: if any good comes to him, he gives thanks to his Lord, and if any calamity befalls him, he is patient with it seeking reward (and both gratitude and patience are beloved to Allah). The believer is rewarded for everything, even for the morsel that he lifts and puts into his wife’s mouth.”
