Hadith 15292

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ , عَنْ سَعِيدٍ , أَنْبَأَنَا قَتَادَةُ , عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ , عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " صَلُّوا عَلَى أَخٍ لَكُمْ مَاتَ بِغَيْرِ أَرْضِكُمْ " ، قَالُوا : مَنْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , قَالَ : " النَّجَاشِيُّ صْحَمَةُ " ، قَالَ : فَقُلْتُ : فَصَفَفْتُمْ عَلَيْهِ ؟ ، قَالَ : نَعَمْ , كُنْتُ فِي الصَّفِّ الثَّالِثِ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said one day: "Offer the funeral prayer for your brother who has passed away in another city." The companions asked: "O Messenger of Allah! Who?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Najashi As-hamah." I asked: "Then what happened?" He said: "You formed rows?" He replied: "Yes, and I was in the third row."
