Hadith 15277

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ , حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَالِدٍ الْأَحْمَرُ ، عَنْ مُجَالِدٍ , عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ , قَالَ : كُنَّا جُلُوسًا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , فَخَطَّ خَطًّا هَكَذَا أَمَامَهُ , فَقَالَ : " هَذَا سَبِيلُ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ " ، وَخَطَّيْنِ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ , وَخَطَّيْنِ عَنْ شِمَالِهِ , قَالَ : " هَذِهِ سَبِيلُ الشَّيْطَانِ " ، ثُمَّ وَضَعَ يَدَهُ فِي الْخَطِّ الْأَوْسَطَ , ثُمَّ تَلَا هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ وَأَنَّ هَذَا صِرَاطِي مُسْتَقِيمًا فَاتَّبِعُوهُ وَلا تَتَّبِعُوا السُّبُلَ فَتَفَرَّقَ بِكُمْ عَنْ سَبِيلِهِ ذَلِكُمْ وَصَّاكُمْ بِهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَ سورة الأنعام آية 153 .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we were sitting with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) drew a line in front of him and said: "This is the path of Allah." Then he drew two lines to its right and left and said: "These are the paths of Satan." Then, placing his hand on the middle line, he recited this verse: "This is My straight path, so follow it, and do not follow other paths, for they will separate you from His path. This is what Allah has enjoined upon you, so that you may become righteous."
