Hadith 15274

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا خَلَفُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ , حَدَّثَنَا الرَّبِيعُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ صَبِيحٍ , عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ الْمَكِّيِّ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , قَالَ : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " نَهَانَا عَنْ أَكْلِ الْكُرَّاثِ وَالْبَصَلِ " ، قَالَ الرَّبِيعُ فَسَأَلْتُ عَطَاءً عَنْ ذَلِكَ , فَقَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي جَابِرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْهُ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade us from (eating) onions and garlic. Rabi' says that I asked Ata regarding this: so he informed me that Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated this hadith to me, that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade this matter.
