Hadith 15273

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا خَلَفُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ , حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ , عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ الْأَعْرَجِ , عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ , عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , قَالَ : خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَنَحْنُ نَقْرَأُ الْقُرْآنَ , وَفِينَا الْعَجَمِيُّ وَالْأَعْرَابِيُّ , قَالَ : فَاسْتَمَعَ , فَقَالَ : " اقْرَءُوا , فَكُلٌّ حَسَنٌ , وَسَيَأْتِي قَوْمٌ يُقِيمُونَهُ كَمَا يُقَامُ الْقِدْحُ , يَتَعَجَّلُونَهُ وَلَا يَتَأَجَّلُونَهُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entered the mosque and saw that some people were reciting the Noble Qur'an. Among us were non-Arabs and villagers as well. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Recite the Noble Qur'an and seek Allah's grace through it before a people come who will place it in the position of their arrows, and they will act hastily and will not delay in it in any way.
