It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to my house. I moved towards my goat to slaughter it, but it started crying. The sound reached the ears of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so he said to me, "Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him), do not slaughter a goat that gives milk or produces offspring." I said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), this is a young goat to whom I have fed so many fresh and dried dates that it has become healthy."
