(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْهَاشِمِيُّ , حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ , عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ , عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ , قَالَ : أُتِيَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِامْرَأَةٍ قَدْ سَرَقَتْ , فَعَاذَتْ بِرَبِيبِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " وَاللَّهِ لَوْ كَانَتْ فَاطِمَةَ , لَقَطَعْتُ يَدَهَا " , فَقَطَعَهَا ، قَالَ ابْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ : وَكَانَ رَبِيبُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَلَمَةَ بْنَ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ , وَعُمَرَ بْنَ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ , فَعَاذَتْ بِأَحَدِهِمَا .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that a woman from Banu Makhzum committed theft. She tried to seek protection by interceding through the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) stepson. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "If my daughter Fatimah had committed theft, I would have cut off her hand as well." And the Prophet (peace be upon him) had her hand cut off. Ibn Abi Zinad says that by "stepson" is meant Salamah bin Abu Salamah or Umar bin Abu Salamah.
