Hadith 15246

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ غَيْلَانَ , حَدَّثَنَا الْمُفَضَّلُ , عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ , أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَطَاءً , أَنَّ ابْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ بَاعَ ثَمَرَ أَرْضٍ لَهُ ثَلَاثَ سِنِينَ , فَسَمِعَ بِذَلِكَ جَابِرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ , فَخَرَجَ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ فِي نَاسٍ , فَقَالَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ : " مَنَعَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ نَبِيعَ الثَّمَرَةَ حَتَّى تَطِيبَ " .
Ata says that once Abdullah bin Zubair sold the fruit of a land on lease for three years. When this news reached Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him), he went out towards the mosque and said to the people in the mosque that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade us from selling fruit before it ripens.
