Hadith 15229

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ , عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ , عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، " أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَعْتَقَ عَبْدًا لَهُ لَيْسَ لَهُ غَيْرُهُ , فَرَدَّهُ عَلَيْهِ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , فَابْتَاعَهُ مِنْهُ نُعَيْمُ بْنُ النَّحَّامِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man made his slave a mudabbar. That man himself was in debt. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sold the mudabbar slave for the payment of his master's debt, and Nu'aym bin Nahham bought him.
