It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the presence of the Prophet and said: O Messenger of Allah! What are the two things that make [one] obligatory? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever meets Allah in such a state that he does not associate anyone with Him will enter Paradise, and whoever meets Allah in such a state that he associates someone with Him will enter Hell.
