It is narrated from Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Soon the people of Makkah will leave their city, but they will be able to populate it again only very little. Then the city of Makkah will become full and tall buildings will be constructed there. At that time, when the people of Makkah have left it, they will never be able to return to it again."
