It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that a woman from Banu Makhzum committed theft. She tried to escape punishment by seeking intercession through the beloved of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), Sayyiduna Usama bin Zaid. When she was brought before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he said: "Even if my daughter Fatimah had committed theft, I would have cut off her hand." And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had her hand cut off.
