Hadith 15135

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، وَسُرَيْجٌ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ , عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ , عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ , عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , قَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ لُحُومِ الْحُمُرِ قَالَ سُرَيْجٌ : الْأَهْلِيَّةُ يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ وَأَذِنَ فِي لُحُومِ الْخَيْلِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade (the eating of) domesticated donkeys at the time of the Battle of Khaybar, and permitted the meat of horses.
