Hadith 15127

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنِي حَجَّاجٌ , قَالَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ : أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " لَا تَزَالُ طَائِفَةٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِي يُقَاتِلُونَ عَلَى الْحَقِّ , ظَاهِرِينَ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ " ، قَالَ : " فَيَنْزِلُ عِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ , فَيَقُولُ : أَمِيرُهُمْ تَعَالَ صَلِّ بِنَا ، فَيَقُولُ : لَا , إِنَّ بَعْضَكُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ أُمَرَاءُ , تَكْرِمَةَ اللَّهِ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: A group from my Ummah will continue to fight for the truth and will remain dominant until the Day of Resurrection, until Sayyiduna Isa descends. Then their leader will say to him, "Please come forward and lead the prayer." But he will reply, "No, some of you are leaders over others, so that Allah may honor this Ummah."
