Hadith 15112

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ , حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ , أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " خِيَارُ النَّاسِ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ , خِيَارُهُمْ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ إِذَا فَقِهُوا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The best among the people in the time of ignorance are the best in the time of Islam, provided they gain understanding of the religion.
