It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Jews greeted the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying, "As-Saam Alaik, O Abu al-Qasim." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied only with, "Wa Alaikum." Sayyidah Aisha, from behind the curtain, angrily said, "Did you not hear what they are saying?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Why not, I heard it and I also replied to them. Our supplication against them will be accepted, but their supplication against us will not be accepted."
