Once Hasan bin Muhammad asked Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) about the ritual bath (ghusl): He replied, "Soak the hair thoroughly and wash the body." He asked, "How did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) perform ghusl?" He replied, "The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would pour water over his head three times." He said, "But my hair is very long." Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) replied, "The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had more hair than you in terms of quantity, and in terms of fragrance, his hair was the longest of all."
