(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَزْهَرُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ , وَكَثِيرُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ , قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ , عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ , قَالَ : اشْتَكَيْتُ وَعِنْدِي سَبْعُ أَخَوَاتٍ لِي , فَدَخَلَ عَلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , فَنَضَحَ فِي وَجْهِي فَأَفَقْتُ , فَقُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , أُوصِي لِأَخَوَاتِي بِالثُّلُثَيْنِ ، قَالَ : " أَحْسِنْ " ، قُلْتُ : بِالشَّطْرِ ، قَالَ : " أَحْسِنْ " ، قَالَ : ثُمَّ خَرَجَ وَتَرَكَنِي , ثُمَّ رَجَعَ ، فَقَالَ : " يَا جَابِرُ , إِنِّي لَا أَرَاكَ مَيِّتًا مِنْ وَجَعِكَ هَذَا , فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ أَنْزَلَ فَبَيَّنَ الَّذِي لِأَخَوَاتِكَ ، فَجَعَلَ لَهُنَّ الثُّلُثَيْنِ " ، قَالَ : فَكَانَ جَابِرٌ يَقُولُ نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ فِيَّ يَسْتَفْتُونَكَ قُلِ اللَّهُ يُفْتِيكُمْ فِي الْكَلالَةِ سورة النساء آية 176 .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I fell ill and I had seven sisters. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to visit me. I regained consciousness and said: O Messenger of Allah! Should I make a bequest of two-thirds for my sisters? The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Adopt the better way. I asked about half; he again said the same. After a short while, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) left from there and then returned and said: Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him), I do not think you will die from this illness. However, Allah Almighty has revealed a command which has determined the share of your sisters, that is, two-thirds. Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the verse of Kalalah was revealed about me.
