Hadith 14988

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ , عَنْ مُحَارِبِ بْنِ دِثَارٍ , قَالَ : دَخَلَ إِلَى جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أُنَاسٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَرَّبَ إِلَيْهِمْ خُبْزًا وَخَلًّا ، فَقَالَ : كُلُوا , فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ " نِعْمَ الْإِدَامُ الْخَلُّّ " .
Abdullah bin Ubaid says that once some companions of the Prophet (ﷺ) came to Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him). He presented cotton and vinegar before them and said: Eat, for I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) say that vinegar is the best condiment.
