Hadith 14986

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ : لَمَّا مَاتَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أُبَيٍّ ، أَتَى ابْنُهُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , إِنَّكَ إِنْ لَمْ تَأْتِهِ لَمْ نَزَلْ نُعَيَّرُ بِهَذَا ، فَأَتَاهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَوَجَدَهُ قَدْ أُدْخِلَ فِي حُفْرَتِهِ ، فَقَالَ : " أَفَلَا قَبْلَ أَنْ تُدْخِلُوهُ ! " فَأُخْرِجَ مِنْ حُفْرَتِهِ ، فَتَفَلَ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ قَرْنِهِ إِلَى قَدَمِهِ ، وَأَلْبَسَهُ قَمِيصَهُ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the chief of the hypocrites, Abdullah bin Ubayy, died, his son, who was a sincere Muslim, came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah! If you do not participate in his funeral prayer, people will always taunt us." So the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) went to him and saw that he had already been placed in the grave. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Why was I not informed before he was placed in the grave?" Then he had him taken out of the grave, applied his saliva from his forehead to his feet, and dressed him in his own shirt.
