It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that he was asked how the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform ghusl. He replied: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would pour water over his head three times. A man from Banu Hashim said: "But my hair is very long." Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had more hair on his blessed head than you in terms of quantity, and in terms of fragrance, his hair was the best of all."
