Hadith 14967

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَطَرٌ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ كَانَتْ لَهُ أَرْضٌ فَلْيَزْرَعْهَا ، فَإِنْ عَجَزَ عَنْهَا ، فَلْيُزْرِعْهَا أَخَاهُ ، وَإِلَّا فَلْيَدَعْهَا وَلَا يُكَارِيهَا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever has a piece of land, he should cultivate it himself. If he cannot do so or is unable to, then he should give it to his brother as a gift, but not on rent.
