(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
أَبُو أَحْمَدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا
سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ
أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ
جَابِرٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " النَّاسُ مَعَادِنُ ، فَخِيَارُهُمْ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ ، خِيَارُهُمْ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ إِذَا فَقِهُوا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: People are like mines of gold and silver; those who were the best in the pre-Islamic period of ignorance are the best in Islam as well, provided they gain understanding of the religion.
