Hadith 14940

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ إِبْلِيسَ قَدْ أَيِسَ أَنْ يَعْبُدَهُ الْمُصَلُّونَ ، وَلَكِنْ فِي التَّحْرِيشِ بَيْنَهُمْ " ، حَدَّثَنَاه وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، مَعْنَاهُ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Satan has despaired of ever being worshipped again by those who pray, but he is eager to sow discord among them.
