Hadith 14939

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ عَرْشَ إِبْلِيسَ عَلَى الْبَحْرِ ، فَيَبْعَثُ سَرَايَاهُ ، فَأَعْظَمُهُمْ عِنْدَهُ أَعْظَمُهُمْ فِتْنَةً " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Iblis places his throne upon the water, then he sends out his troops. The one among them who causes the greatest tribulation is the closest to him in proximity.
