Hadith 14934

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ دُكَيْنٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ كُهَيْلٍ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، وأبى الزبير ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ " أَنَّ رَجُلًا مَاتَ ، وَتَرَكَ مُدَبَّرًا وَدَيْنًا ، فَأَمَرَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَبِيعُوهُ فِي دَيْنِهِ ، فَبَاعُوهُ بِثَمَانِ مِائَةٍ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man died, leaving behind a mudabbar slave, and he died in debt. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered that his slave be sold to pay off his debt, so the people sold him for eight hundred dirhams.
