Hadith 14932

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَجَّاجُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ، قَالَ : سُئِلَ جَابِرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ : كَيْفَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَصْنَعُ بِالْخُمُسِ ؟ ، قَالَ " كَانَ يَحْمِلُ الرَّجُلَ مِنْهُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ، ثُمَّ الرَّجُلَ ، ثُمَّ الرَّجُلَ " .
Someone asked Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) about what was done with the khums. He replied: They would provide a mount for a warrior, then give a mount to another in the path of Allah, then to a third person.
