Hadith 14930

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) once passed through a market where there was a dead goat with very small ears lying there. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) picked it up and said to the people: "How much would you like to buy this for?" The people said, "We do not want to buy it for anything. What would we do with it?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) repeated his question. The people said, "Even if it were alive, having small ears would be a defect, and now that it is dead, how could we buy it?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "By Allah, this goat is more insignificant in your eyes than the world is in the sight of Allah."
