It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man slaughtered a six-month-old kid before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed the Eid prayer. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This will not suffice for anyone other than you," and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade slaughtering the animal before the prayer.
