Hadith 14921

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَيُّوبُ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، وَسَعِيدِ بْنِ مِينَاءٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ : أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " نَهَى عَنِ الْمُحَاقَلَةِ ، وَالْمُزَابَنَةِ ، وَالْمُعَاوَمَةِ ، وَقَالَ أَحَدُهُمَا : وَبَيْعِ السِّنِينَ ، وَعَنْ بَيْعِ الثُّنْيَا ، وَرَخَّصَ فِي الْعَرَايَا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the sale of Muhaqala, Muzara’ah (sharecropping), the sale of fruits on contract for several years, and the exception of specific trees. However, he permitted that a person may give his garden as a loan to a poor person.
