Hadith 14918

(حديث مرفوع) (حديث موقوف) وَقَالَ لَهُ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، وَأَنَا شَاهِدٌ : وَقَالَ لَهُ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، وَأَنَا شَاهِدٌ : حَدَّثَكَ جَابِرٌ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ كَانَتْ لَهُ أَرْضٌ فَلْيَزْرَعْهَا ، أَوْ لِيُزْرِعْهَا أَخَاهُ ، وَلَا يُكْرِيهَا " ؟ ، قَالَ : عَطَاءٌ : نَعَمْ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever has a piece of land should cultivate it himself or give it as a gift to his brother, but he should not rent it out.
