Hadith 14909

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُنْكَدِرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَدَقَقْتُ الْبَابَ ، فَقَالَ : " مَنْ هَذَا ؟ " قُلْتُ : أَنَا ، قَالَ : " أَنَا ، أَنَا ! " كَأَنَّهُ كَرِهَهُ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I knocked on the door of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and sought permission. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: Who is it? I said: It is me. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Is it 'me, me'?"—as if the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) disliked this.
