Hadith 14901

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، وَعَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " سَدِّدُوا ، وَقَارِبُوا ، وَلَنْ يُنْجِيَ أَحَدًا مِنْكُمْ عَمَلُهُ " ، قُلْنَا : وَلَا أَنْتَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ ، قَالَ : " وَلَا أَنَا ، إِلَّا أَنْ يَتَغَمَّدَنِي اللَّهُ مِنْهُ بِرَحْمَةٍ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Remain close (to the right path) and do what is correct, for none of you will be saved by his deeds. The companions asked: O Messenger of Allah! Not even you? He replied: Not even me, unless Allah envelops me in His mercy.
