Hadith 14899

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ : " أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ نُغْلِقَ الْأَبْوَابَ ، وَأَنْ نُوكِئَ الْأَسْقِيَةَ ، وَأَنْ نُطْفِئَ الْمَصَابِيحَ ، وَأَنْ نَكُفَّ فَوَاشِيَنَا ، حَتَّى تَذْهَبَ فَحْمَةُ الْعِشَاءِ ، وَنَهَانَا أَنْ يَأْكُلَ الرَّجُلُ بِشِمَالِهِ ، وَأَنْ يَمْشِيَ فِي النَّعْلِ الْوَاحِدَةِ ، وَعَنِ الصَّمَّاءِ ، وَالِاحْتِبَاءِ فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded us to close the doors, tie the mouths of the water skins, and keep the children indoors until the darkness of the night has passed. He forbade that anyone should eat with his left hand, walk wearing only one shoe, wrap himself in a single garment, or sit with one leg drawn up.
