Hadith 14896

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي غَزَاةٍ ، قَالَ : فَاسْتَأْذَنْتُ أَتَعَجَّلُ ، قُلْتُ : إِنِّي تَزَوَّجْتُ ، قَالَ : " ثَيِّبًا أَمْ بِكْرًا ؟ " ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : ثَيِّبًا ، قَالَ : " فَأَلَّا كَانَتْ بِكْرًا تُلَاعِبُهَا وَتُلَاعِبُكَ ؟ " ، قَالَ : " انْطَلِقْ وَاعْمَلْ عَمَلًا كَيِّسًا " ، قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : يَعْنِي لَا تَطْرُقْهُنَّ لَيْلًا .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we were with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in a battle. I sought permission from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to leave early and said: I have gotten married. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: To a virgin or to a previously married woman? I replied: To a previously married woman. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Why did you not marry a virgin so that you could play with her and she could play with you? Then he said: Go and be close to your wife.
