Hadith 14895

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو ، عَنِ الْمُطَّلِبِ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : شَهِدْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْأَضْحَى بِالْمُصَلَّى ، فَلَمَّا قَضَى خُطْبَتَهُ ، نَزَلَ مِنْ مِنْبَرِهِ ، وَأَتَى بِكَبْشٍ ، فَذَبَحَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِيَدِهِ ، وَقَالَ : " بِسْمِ اللَّهِ ، وَاللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ ، هَذَا عَنِّي وَعَمَّنْ لَمْ يُضَحِّ مِنْ أُمَّتِي " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that I offered the Eid al-Adha prayer with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). After completing the prayer and sermon, a ram was brought. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) slaughtered it, saying: "Bismillah, Allahu Akbar," and said: "O Allah, this is from me and from all those in my ummah who cannot offer a sacrifice."
