Hadith 14881

(حديث قدسي) حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْمَدِينِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ السُّلَمِيُّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَا جَابِرُ ، أَمَا عَلِمْتَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ أَحْيَا أَبَاكَ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ : تَمَنَّ عَلَيَّ ، فَقَالَ : أُرَدُّ إِلَى الدُّنْيَا ، فَأُقْتَلُ مَرَّةً أُخْرَى ، فَقَالَ : إِنِّي قَضَيْتُ الْحُكْمَ أَنَّهُمْ إِلَيْهَا لَا يَرْجِعُونَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) addressed me and said: "Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him), do you know that Allah granted your father life and asked him if he had any wish? He replied: 'Send me back to the world so that I may be martyred once again.' Allah said: 'I have already decreed that those who go to the world will not return again.'"
