Hadith 14879

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " مَا أَحَدٌ يَدْعُو بِدُعَاءٍ ، إِلَّا آتَاهُ اللَّهُ مَا سَأَلَ ، أَوْ كَفَّ عَنْهُ مِنَ السُّوءِ مِثْلَهُ ، مَا لَمْ يَدْعُ بِإِثْمٍ ، أَوْ بِقَطِيعَةِ رَحِمٍ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: Whenever a person supplicates, Allah surely grants it to him, or averts from him a calamity or distress similar to it, as long as he does not supplicate for something sinful or for severing ties of kinship.
