Hadith 14871

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَخِي بْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ ، وَقَدْ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، أَنَّ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أخْبَرَهُ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " قَضَى أَنَّهُ مَنْ أَعْمَرَ رَجُلًا عُمْرَى لَهُ وَلِعَقِبِهِ ، فَإِنَّهَا لِلَّذِي يُعْمَرُهَا ، قَدْ بَتَّهَا مِنْ صَاحِبِهَا الَّذِي أَعْمَرَهَا ، مَا وَقَعَ مِنْ مَوَارِيثِ اللَّهِ وَحَقِّهِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) decreed that if something is given to someone for a lifetime, it will belong to him and his offspring, and the one who gave it has no right to take it back because of his statement.
