It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that when those people set out for Madinah Munawwarah with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also took the sacrificial animal with him. So, whoever among us wished, assumed Ihram, and whoever wished, left it.
