Abu Zubair says that I asked Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that if a man wants to fast and he has a vessel in his hand and he is drinking water, and at that moment the call to prayer (adhan) is heard, he replied: It has been narrated to us that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: He should drink the water.
