(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، عَنِ الْبَهْزِيَّةِ أُمِّ مَالِكٍ ، كَانَتْ تُهْدِي فِي عُكَّةٍ لَهَا سَمْنًا لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَبَيْنَمَا بَنُوهَا يَسْأَلُونَهَا عَنْ إِدَامٍ ، وَلَيْسَ عِنْدَهَا شَيْءٌ ، فَعَمَدَتْ إِلَى نِحْيِهَا الَّذِي كَانَتْ تُهْدِي فِيهِ السَّمْنَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَوَجَدَتْ فِيهِ سَمْنًا ، فَمَا زَالَ يُقِيمُ لَهَا إِدَامَ بَنِيهَا حَتَّى عَصَرَتْهُ ، فَأَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : " أَعَصَرْتِيهِ ؟ " ، فَقَالَتْ : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : " لَوْ تَرَكْتِيهِ مَا زَالَ ذَلِكَ مُقِيمًا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that Umm Malik Al-Bahziyyah used to send a gift of ghee to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in a bucket. Once, her children asked her for curry, but she had nothing at that time. She got up and went to the bucket in which she used to send ghee to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and saw that there was ghee in it. So she kept giving it to her children as curry for a long time, until one day she squeezed it out completely. She then went to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and narrated the whole incident. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked her, "Did you squeeze it out?" She replied, "Yes." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "If you had left it as it was, there would always have been ghee in it."
